The only difference between the two versions is the Professional version includes the ACCDB Access database file along with the application. This file can be used if you need to edit the source, add additional reports, modify queries, tables, etc.

No, you will not need to have Microsoft Access installed. The program depends on the Access 2007 runtime, which is free and included with the installer. If you purchase the Professional version with the intent of customizing the database, then you would need to have a copy of Microsoft Access 2007.

The Express Service Code is calculated by looking at the Service Tag of the asset. For the Express Service Code field to be calculated, you need to enter the Dell Service Tag into the Serial field. At this point the Express Service Code will be automatically displayed.

Certain requirements are needed for a Dell asset to display the additional options on the main form. 1. The Supplier field must equal "Dell" (without the quotes) 2. The Category field drop down must equal any one of the following: Notebook, Workstation, or Server. At this point you should see the additional options that are specific to Dell assets.

Asset Inventory Plus was designed with the mindset of linking all assets to a location or user. When you create or mark an asset as active, it expects that there will be a user associated with that asset. Once you assign a user, then the total asset count will turn back to gray. This helps ensure that you have an accurate count of your available assets on hand.
